In the Riddle Lab, we investigate how humans control their thoughts to reach their goals. Our research is uncovering how electrical brain activity underlies cognitive control and becomes disrupted with psychiatric illness. In our studies, participants exert cognitive control (such as attention, working memory, or decision-making) while we record electrophysiology (EEG) or hemodynamics (fMRI) and deliver transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) or transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS). Justin Riddle is committed to academic integrity, effective mentorship, and scientific innovation.
